INTRODUCTION
Army Law College, Pune is a residential institute that provides quality legal education to the children of Indian Army personnel. It was established in July 2018 by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), a non-profit organization that runs various educational institutions for army families. The college is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, which is one of the top universities in India. The college is approved by the Bar Council of India and the Government of Maharashtra. The college offers a five-year integrated B.B.A.LL. B program, which combines the study of management and law. The college has a student intake of 60 seats, exclusively for the children of army personnel.
CAMPUS
The college is located in a serene and scenic location, away from the noise and pollution of the city. It is situated on the old Pune-Mumbai Highway, near the Kanhe railway station. The college is well connected by train and road. The college is near the automobile manufacturing hub of Chakan-Talegaon and Pimpri-Chinchwad. This allows the students to learn from industry experts and gain practical exposure.
The college has a state-of-the-art infrastructure. Dr Prem Daryanani, Managing Trustee of Radha Kaliandas Daryanani Charitable Trust, has donated six acres of land and 12 buildings at Kanhe to the Indian Army. The college has a modern hostel facility for all the students, with all the amenities. The college also has a new academic block and an auditorium with a seating capacity of 500. The college has a well-equipped library, a computer lab, a moot court hall, a cafeteria, a sports complex and a medical centre.
VISION
The college aims to train students to become ethical lawyers who are ready for work and have the skills to succeed in their field. It is dedicated to providing high-quality legal education, especially to the children of our brave army personnel. The college seeks to instill in future lawyers universal humanitarian values, shaping them into responsible global citizens and defenders of justice, equality, and brotherhood.
It strives to create unique law professionals who will serve the country and humanity by strengthening the justice system and protecting citizens’ rights. The college prepares students to handle the complex challenges posed by globalization, environmental issues, digital revolution, privacy issues, technological advances, unemployment, large-scale migration, geopolitical conflicts, intellectual property, community interests, and the ethical dilemmas of evolving medical science.
