INTRODUCTION
The Army Institute of Education (AIE), established in 2003, is a prestigious institution dedicated to providing pre-service teacher education to dependents of Army personnel. Affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education and the Rehabilitation Council of India, AIE offers a Bachelor of Education program and a B.Ed. Special Education program. The institute, which is NAAC accredited with an “A” grade and ISO 9001:2015 certified, is located in Greater Noida and is well-connected to Noida and Delhi. With its motto “Pragya, Pratishtha Pragyanam”, AIE has grown as a Centre of Excellence in Teacher Education, providing quality education in a lush green campus spread over nearly 2.92 acres.
VISION
The Army Institute of Education (AIE) aims to develop teachers who are smart, socially aware, ethical, and technically skilled, who will shape India’s future. The mission of AIE is to empower future teachers by providing them with a wealth of knowledge and wisdom and equipping them with the latest technology-assisted techniques. AIE provides teacher training to Army personnel’s dependents, including war widows. It aims to create sensitive teachers, instill values of national integration, tolerance, justice, fraternity, liberty, and equality, and understand the needs of differently-abled learners. AIE also focuses on integrating technology into teaching, developing reflective practitioners, infusing 21st-century skills, and sensitizing teachers about global challenges to provide quality education.
CAMPUS AND FACILITIES
The Army Institute of Education (AIE) has a B.Ed. academic block with four air-conditioned classrooms, each equipped with projectors, whiteboards, and podiums. The campus also includes an administrative block, a seminar hall for large gatherings, and a conference hall for smaller meetings. It features a Teaching & Learning Resource Room, a Math Resource Centre, well-equipped and full-fledged hostels for Boys and Girls, a Psychology Lab, a Computer and Educational Technology Lab, an English Language Lab, and a Science Lab. The institute also provides medical facilities for the well-being of students. All these facilities contribute to a comprehensive learning environment, fostering academic excellence and holistic development.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE OF AIE
- Candidates interested in applying to the Army Institute of Education (AIE) must submit their application forms online for the Common Entrance Test (CET) to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), New Delhi. The application form, costing Rs.1200 excluding processing charges and taxes, is available until May 31, 2022. The application fee is non-refundable.
- Candidates can download their admit cards for the CET using their login ID and password. It’s important to choose the correct CET Code when applying as changes are not allowed after submission. Separate applications must be filled for the B.Ed. and B.Ed. Special Education programs.
- Applicants should keep a printout of the CET application form as proof of submission. Please note that simply applying for the CET does not guarantee admission. Only those who qualify in the CET will be considered for admission through university counselling, provided they meet the eligibility and admission criteria.
