INTRODUCTION

To cater to the needs of the female dependents of Army personnel who aspire to pursue a career in nursing, the Army Institute of Nursing (AIN) was established in 2006 at Guwahati, the gateway to the North Eastern Region and the commercial hub of the region. AIN is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and the Assam Nurses Midwives and Health Visitors Council, Assam. AIN is also affiliated to the Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, Assam. CAMPUS AND FACILITIES

AIN Guwahati is a well-equipped institute that offers various facilities to its students and faculty. The institute has a hostel facility at the Narangi Military Stations, a library with 5000 books and journals, a mess that serves clean and hygienic food, a health center with a first aid facility, and a cafeteria for staff and students. ADMISSION PROCEDURE ARMY INSTITUTE OF NURSING (AIN)

B.Sc. Nursing: Candidates must have passed 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks. They must also appear for the Online Admission Test (OAT) conducted by the institute. The intake capacity is 50 seats per year. The admission notice is usually announced in February or March on the official website of the institute.

To apply, candidates need to register online, fill out the application form, pay the fee, and download the admit card for the OAT. The OAT is a computer-based test of 90 minutes duration, consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Awareness. The counselling session is held after the declaration of the OAT result, where the candidates are allotted seats based on their merit and preference.

M.Sc. Nursing: Candidates must have a B.Sc. Nursing degree or equivalent with 55% marks and one year of work experience. They must also appear for the Post Graduate Written Admission Test (PG-WAT) conducted by the institute. The intake capacity is 20 seats per year. The admission notice is usually announced in June or July on the official website of the institute.

To apply, candidates need to register online, fill out the application form, pay the fee, and download the admit card for the PG-WAT. The PG-WAT is a pen-and-paper test of 90 minutes duration, consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions from the subjects of B.Sc Nursing. The counselling session is held after the declaration of the PG-WAT result, where the candidates are allotted seats based on their merit and preference.
