While first-time applicants may still need to apply offline, the digital process for renewals saves time and effort. This guide outlines eligibility, required documents, and steps to obtain or renew your CSD Smart Card, ensuring you can access your entitled benefits efficiently.

The CSD Smart Card is an identification card for defense personnel, veterans, widows, and eligible dependents, granting access to CSD canteens across India. These canteens offer subsidized goods, including groceries, household items, electronics, and vehicles. The card ensures secure and efficient delivery of benefits, reflecting gratitude for the sacrifices made by the armed forces and their families.

 Following CSD beneficiaries are required to apply through physical application forms through Canteen:-

All uploads must be clear, legible, and as per portal file size limits.

Only recent civil dress photos are accepted.

First-time applicants typically follow an offline process:

  1. Obtain the Application Form: Download the form from csdsmartcard.co.in or collect it from a nearby CSD canteen.
  2. Complete the Form: Enter personal and service details, including PAN, date of joining, and entitlement category.
  3. Attach Documents: Include photos, PAN card, identity/address proof, and other required documents.
  4. Submit at a Canteen: Submit the form and documents to your nearest CSD canteen. Your card will be processed and mailed to your registered address within 7-20 days, depending on verification.

Renewals and replacements are managed online, offering a convenient experience:

  1. Visit the CSD Portal:
    • Access csdsmartcard.co.in using a smartphone or computer.
  2. Register or Log In:
    • New users: Click “Register,” provide your mobile number, email, and a secure password.
    • Existing users: Log in with your PAN number and password.
  3. Enter Card Details:
    • Input your Grocery/Liquor Card ID and serial number.
  4. Verify Identity:
    • Provide PAN details and verify email/mobile via OTP.
  5. Fill Personal Details:
    • Enter service type (e.g., Army, Navy), organization, and entitlement category.
  6. Upload Photos and Signatures:
    • Submit clear individual and joint (with spouse) photos and digital signatures.
  7. Upload Supporting Documents:
    • Provide digital copies of PAN, official ID, grocery/liquor card, Aadhaar, and other required documents.
  8. Add Dependents’ Details:
    • Include details and photos for eligible dependents, each needing a separate application.
  9. Submit with Self-Declaration:
    • Review details, agree to the self-declaration, and submit.
    • Save the acknowledgment number for tracking.
  10. Track and Receive Card:
    • Monitor application status on the portal using the acknowledgment number.
    • The card will be couriered to your registered address within 7-20 days.

Note: Annual renewals were discontinued as of January 1, 2023. CSD Smart Cards are now valid for 10 years.
